So you have only seen Thailand on t.v., in movies and you might know someone who has taken a cheeky trip to the Land of Smiles. But now it is your turn to “check in” to Bangkok on Facebook and spam the timeline with your holiday snaps. What are some must see’s and local attractions you can’t miss? Read below to find out.
1. Temples

Once you have seen one you have seen them all, so make sure your first few temple visits are the best ones. Click on the link below
Recommended temples to visit: Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew, Golden Mount
2. Floating Market

A few choices to choose from for Floating Market but we have found that the best one to visit is Damnoen Saduak, this has been the most popular Floating Market in Thailand and is also the most touristy one. For an alternative you can visit Amphawa floating market, which is located 50KM from Bangkok for a more authentic feel with most of its visitors being Thais.
3. Shopping

You simply can’t find malls and stalls in Thailand like you will in Bangkok. The hub of wholesalers can be found in the Pratunam area with major malls like Platinum (my personal favourite). Be sure to wear comfy shoes and a secure bag so you are not constantly stressing over your personal belongings. Click the link below to find out more of my top malls in BKK.
Recommended malls to visit in Bangkok: Platinum Mall, Siam Square1,Siam Center, Siam Paragon
4. Markets

Leading from shopping being one of the things to do in BKK visiting markets is definitely an authentic way to explore Bangkok. Thailand wouldn’t be Thailand without its markets whether it’s the biggest outdoor market Chatuchak (JJ) Weekend Market, Asiatique or the local night markets you might find randomly. Markets such as JJ Green, JJ Weekend Market or Talad Rod Fai (Train Market) are at its peak on the weekends. If possible, plan your Bangkok layover between Thurs-Sun so you can get out the hotel room and find some bits and bobs you didn’t know you needed whilst nibbling on some tasty treats from the food stalls.
5. Roof Top Bar

If Bangkok has an abundance of anything then it’s roof top bars and pools. Why not take in the view of the energetic city from a high point while enjoying a dip in the pool or a sip on a Sex On The Beach (you may not be having it but at least you’re drinking it).
